Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
This Sacrament is celebrated at the following times,

  • St. David’s, Dalkeith :- Saturday evening from 5.20 p.m. to 5.45 p.m. before Vigil Mass.
  • St. Luke & St. Anne’s, Mayfield :- Saturday morning from 9.30 a.m. before and then immediately after 10.00 a.m. Mass.
  • In either parish, at any suitable time by request.


Parish News and Events.


This Sunday we celebrate the Rite of presentation of the Gospel
for the children who are preparing for their First Holy Communion in 2018.

The second of Fr. Andrew’s Advent talks will take place on Monday 11th December at 7.30 p.m. in the hall at St. David’s – ‘We three kings… Who were the wise men and what did they see?’

Please note that during Advent,
• Mass at St. David's on Thursdays will be at 7 p.m. followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Confessions will be available during this time.
• Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with the opportunity for confessions will follow the 10 a.m. Saturday Mass at St. Luke & St. Anne’s.

On the Fridays of Advent Archbishop Leo will be giving a series of talks for young people (aged 16-29) in the Cathedral at 7 p.m., with an opportunity for socialising afterwards.

The Knitting Club meets on a Thursday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. in Rosehill.
Sr. Jean would like to extend a warm welcome to ALL ladies who would simply like to come along  for a cup of tea and a chat.

Parish Counting Team Rota & Reading Team Rota for 2018 are at the back of the Church for collection.

NOTE - NO Teas & Coffees after Mass in December.
Also the next available Sunday to book for a Good Cause Teas & Coffees is in January next year.

Mary’s Meals.
Raffle tickets are on sale for some wonderful Christmas hampers!
Proceeds will go to the Mary’s Meals ‘Double the love’ appeal - any donations to Mary’s Meals between now and December 31st will be doubled by three generous donors.


Storehouse Project.
Many thanks, once again, to all who contribute on a regular basis to this charity.
Now that Christmas is nearly upon us, this is a 'wee' reminder if anyone would like to give a special 'foodie treat' to the children.
Thanks again.
The following are in short supply - pot noodles, tins of macaroni cheese, tubs of powdered baby milk, diluting juice, jam/peanut butter/chocolate spread/laundry liquid.

Saturday 9th December - St. Vincent de Paul Society
Christmas Party for the Senior Citizens
of St. David’s and St. Luke & St. Anne’s Parishes will be held in St. David’s Church Hall from 12 noon until 5.00 pm.
Lists have been placed at the back of each church for the names of people wishing to attend.
There are also lists for volunteer drivers to take the people to and from the party.

This Sunday (10th December).
Panto buses leaves soon after Mass.


Tuesday 12th December SPUC Pro-Life Scotland.
The Right Side Tour - Edinburgh - 19.00 Augustine United Church, George IV Bridge.
Education on the legacy of the abortion act and the current 'decriminalisation of abortion' campaign underway.

Next Sunday (17th December)....
2.00 p.m. Nativity Play
followed by mulled wine in the hall.
