Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
This Sacrament is celebrated at the following times,

  • St. David’s, Dalkeith :- Saturday evening from 5.20 p.m. to 5.45 p.m. before Vigil Mass.
  • St. Luke & St. Anne’s, Mayfield :- Saturday morning from 9.30 a.m. before and then immediately after 10.00 a.m. Mass.
  • In either parish, at any suitable time by request.

We welcome into the Church Euan McMahon who was baptised last Sunday!

Congratulations to Dominic and Sarah-Louise Gillespie who were married on Saturday!
We wish them every blessing in their married life together.

There will be a graveside service for Mary McDonald on Friday at 9.30am in Newbattle cemetery.
Please continue to keep Mary and her family in your prayers. May she rest in peace.

Please note that Mass on Friday in St David’s will be at the later time of 10.30am.

Fr. Andrew will be on a retreat for the clergy of the archdiocese from Tuesday 29th August to Friday 1st of September.
For all emergencies, please contact Fr Allan Ocdenaria in Rosewell on 440 2150.
Unfortunately there will be no Mass in Dalkeith from Tuesday to Friday of that week.

The inspirational Fr. Patrick Shanahan sadly died a year ago.
Donations to this Sunday's teas and coffees will be for his work, which continues through his street children's charity StreetInvest.
Deirdre will be happy to accept any donations up to the end of August.

Pantomime Cinderella Sunday 10th December.
Anyone interested, can order tickets on Sunday the 27th of August in St. David's church hall after 11 a.m. Mass. The tickets cost £13 per child (up to 15 years of age) and £26 per adult. The tickets can be paid for when ordering or before Sunday the 17th of September.
As usual buses will be provided and every child will receive a selection box. Tickets must be ordered in person, and in the unlikely event that not all tickets are sold, we will reduce the number to avoid incurring unnecessary costs. The hall committee.

Pilgrimage to Iona for young adults (ages 16–29) on September 9–10:
Come and join us on our journey to visit the island where Saint Columba lived, prayed and evangelised.
Meet other young pilgrims from across Scotland, pray with your brothers and sisters, participate in Holy Mass offered by Archbishop Cushley.

Lourdes Thanksgiving Mass.
This year saw the 10th anniversary of our parishes sending parishioners to Lourdes.
To mark this occasion there will be a Mass of thanksgiving on Friday the 22nd of September at 19.30.
We hope everyone who has supported our fundraising events, or went to Lourdes will come and join us.
There will be cheese and wine in the hall afterward, an opportunity for everyone to see the photos from the first 10 years!
